Henderson artist Jamie Zerr-Lockwood brings ordinary scenes to life in her acrylic paintings now on display at Brighton City Hall. Zerr-Lockwood’s paintings are part of the Eye for Art program’s “Summer of Dimensions” exhibit.
Zerr-Lockwood has been creating art for more than 20 years and works with acrylics because it’s the medium she first started painting in and still loves the most. She is inspired by the natural world and has most recently been working with color and texture.
The beauty she creates in “Blue Birds” captures the elegance of its feather details while basking in the sunlight and visions of “Bicycle” and “Fishing evoke nostalgic youth filled yearnings for a midsummer’s day.”
Zerr-Lockwood is a native of Colorado and currently resides in Henderson with her husband and two children. Raising young children, she finds Brighton a great place to volunteer for her children’s activities as well her own passions in artistic activities such as the Eye for Art program.
Zerr-Lockwood’s art is on display as part of the “Summer of Dimensions” exhibit through Sept. 25 and is available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at City Hall. Original artwork on display is available for purchase. Special tours are also available to groups by appointment.
