Photographer James Bietendorf captures the vibrant beauty of nature and cityscape in his brilliant images currently on display at Brighton City Hall. Biettendorf’s exquisite photographs are part of the Eye for Art program’s “Spring Enchantment” exhibit from Feb 1 to May 20.

Bietendorf attended the University of Houston and Baylor College of Medicine where he earned dual degrees in biology and medical imaging. From nuclear medicine technologist to hospital administrator/manager at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA, he still always actively maintained his interest in photography by capturing images of nature, landscapes and cityscapes in his spare time.

Now retired from the medical field, Bietendorf devotes a great deal of his time in the quest to create the most beautiful photographic works of art possible.  He loves capturing the beauty of life that surrounds us and sharing it with others is one of his a priorities.

Bietendorf’s images on canvas appear more like paintings than photographs. His ability to capture the light and textures in an image are exquisite and quite captivating. His image of the “Venice Canal at Sunrise” is breathtaking and his dimensions in “Redwoods” are exceptionally superb!  He truly has captured the digital age of beauty, as he also flourishes in creating videography, (music videos, life event videos, educational and instructional videos, travel videos) as well as digital images on canvass.  See one of his recent video creations for the Spring Enchantment artist reception: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiVfdKIovz8

Bietendorf and his wife recently moved to the Brighton area and love the artistic opportunities that the community provides. Besides participating in the Eye for Art Program, Bietendorf is also a featured artist at the Brighton Main Street Creative Gallery where he is expanding his artistic wings.

Bietendorf’s artistic creations are on display as part of the “Spring Enchantment” exhibit through May 20 and are available for viewing from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays at City Hall. Original artwork on display is available for purchase. Special tours are also available to groups by appointment.
