Come be inspired by the progress made educating South Sudanese refugee orphans in Kenya through Seeds of South Sudan Sunday, November 13 at 12:30 pm at Montview Blvd. Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street in Denver. Since 2009, Seeds of South Sudan has sponsored 145 refugee orphans and educated them to be “seeds of change in South Sudan.”

Colorado volunteers meet Seeds students attending Roots Academy in Nakuru, Kenya.

Two groups of Seeds volunteers traveled to Kenya this year. The event Nov. 13 will feature photos and videos of our wonderful Seeds students. The group did a health screening that identified students who needed glasses or treatment for intestinal conditions. Two groups traveled to Kakuma Refugee Camp to interview 60 more refugee orphans for the Seeds program.

Some Seeds students have scored in the top 1% out of 100,000 Kenyan students taking the 8th grade exit exam. The program features a video by Yar Deng, one of these super scholars, who aspires to be a neurosurgeon and an entrepreneur.

Seeds volunteer Mary Hanson teaches students the keyboard purchased with funds donated by Montview Presbyterian Church.
Mary teaches three Seeds of South Sudan students how to play the keyboard on the Seeds trip to Kenya in September.

Celebrate the success these bright, ethical and thoughtful children have achieved. Attendees can also shop for beautiful Kenyan jewelry, tote bags, thank you notes and greeting cards at the event. For questions or to RSVP, please email John at info@seedsofsouthsudan.org.
