Students…Submit Application Now for Citywide Student Art Show in Olde Town Arvada

Olde Town Arvada Businesses Will Highlight Student Art from the Metro Area

$1,000 for best in show, $500 for second place, $250 for third place, and $50 each for 5 honorable mentions.

Attention Student Artists…

Submit your original art (can be art previously created) by September 20, 2019, for consideration for the Olde Town Arvada Student Art Show. This juried exhibition featuring artwork from middle school and high school students from throughout the Denver metro area will be on display in Olde Town Arvada businesses from October 4 (Opening Night Event 5-8 p.m.) through October 30, 2019.

All work must be original and if accepted for the show must remain on view until the close of the show. Student artists may display and sell work in any of these categories: Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wood. Opening event during First Friday Art Walk

In October 2019 the businesses of Olde Town Arvada will showcase art from students in the community. This art show, organized by the Olde Town Arvada Business Improvement District (https://oldetownarvada.org/about/) and local business owners, will be a judged exhibition featuring artwork from middle school and high school students from the Denver metro area and will have an opening event on Friday, October 4, from 5 to 8pm. 

This showcase will be a judged exhibition featuring artwork from middle school and high school students from the Denver metro area. All work must be original but could have been created at any time. All work accepted for the show must be prepared for exhibit and remain on view until the close of the show. Artists will be featured in participating Olde Town Arvada businesses and may display and sell work in any of these categories: Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing, Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, and Wood. 

“Providing an opportunity for experiential education and exposure for young artists from our communities is an important part of supporting their passions and growth within the arts,” says Jamie Hollier, owner of Olde Town gallery, Balefire Goods. “I think those that come out for this art show will be impressed with the amazing talent and creativity of our local students.”

One aspect of this show is a competition, judged by local media and art/community leaders, with cash prizes for eight of the best pieces created by local young artists, including $1,000 for best in show, $500 for second place, $250 for third place, and $50 each for 5 honorable mentions.

Local Olde Town Arvada businesses of whom will be supporting the Student Art Show and showcasing the student’s art includes Balefire Goods, Vouna and The Cereal Box Inc., with more businesses to be announced soon.
