Sat., July 27, first race at 7:45 a.m., E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, 11800 Community Center Drive
The city is utilizing two of its top recreation assets – Webster Lake and the Greenway Trail System – for its new event, the Paddle & Run. The race starts with a two-mile run, followed by a half-mile kayak trip and then concluding with another two-mile run.
Participants can compete by themselves or as part of a two-person team. The starts of the races begin at 7:45 a.m. and continue through 10:45 a.m.
At the end, racers receive a T-shirt, breakfast burrito and a cold beer to wash it down courtesy of Periodic Brewing.
The cost is $40 for individuals through July 14 and $55 afterward. For pairs, the cost is $70 through July 14 and $90 after that. July 21 is the sign up deadline. Registrations will NOT be taken on race day.
